Hi! My name is Paige Dolen, I am 16 and in grade 11. This is my fourth year in 4-H, and I have learned to appreciate it in the way that it teaches a person how to be responsible for animals. My steer's name is Maverick, he is a Charolais Simmental Cross and I purchased him from James and Sarah Smith. He has been a great calf so far, especially when it comes to his therapeutic talents to get me through Physics 30. My favourite thing about him other than his therapy degree is his great length, and he has a fabulous amount of spunk. Enough to keep me on my toes anyway. He has been eating a peas/barley/oats ration throughout the year with a side of hay to keep him happy. I hope to have him finish the year off at grand total of 1300 lbs, and so far he's done great at achieving it.
